In December 2015 UK Water completed an extensive efficiency survey for a site portfolio at North Lanarkshire Leisure Trust. The survey included a detailed investigation into water use on sites including Stadiums, covering everything from water efficient devices, through rateable value and energy usage. The initial surveys and reports identified savings of over £100k/year for NLL and phase 2 is currently underway to investigate the rectification works required to realise those savings with a low ROI.
As part of Phase 2, we will be looking at installing water saving devices, leakage detection/repair and innovative solutions such as boreholes for water and heat, ground source heat pumps and potential water and heat recovery options. We have been chosen by NLL to be their appointed Water Consultancy in a pro-active approach to saving money and helping protect the environment and enabling the client to hit Local Authority 2020 climate targets. This project is expected to realise considerable savings in excess of an estimated £0.75M in operating costs if recommendations are fully adopted over three years in water and related energy.
